Jim, a long-time diabetic, was home alone when he began experiencing severely elevated blood sugars that put him at risk for complications. Fortunately, a neighbor stopped by and recognized his situation. He was incoherent and was taken into the emergency room at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was transferred to the ICU while staff closely monitored his blood sugar levels.
“The nurse that had been working in that ICU was there for 30 years. And he treated me like I was a king. Took real good care of me.”
